Spiritual Relationships Part 1 Imagine it's Thanksgiving............ Anything that is micro waved is forced to cook at high speeds and high radiation. We choose this process because whatever the desired dish is we want it NOW. Waiting on something to be cooked in a conventional oven is not favorable anymore, but we should definitely reconsider. Why? You may say. Conventional cooking allows food to cook itself, giving it time to release it's natural ingredients which makes for a more healthier meal. However, at times we settle for the convenience of getting something right then and there. So we choose the microwave. We've embraced the microwave theory for everything. Even relationships. We rush in and out of relationships because we want results NOW. Most times, our goal in a relationship is to be impressed and not processed. Spiritually, there's so much to discover about a person than what can be seen with the eyes or felt through emotions. TV implies the sexual and totally disregards the essence of the relationship. We spend the most time on that one thing that takes the least time to secure. We scale high sexually, but are scarce with honesty about what makes us complete. It is and has always been the intent of God to motivate purpose in relationship. Answers to the following questions can give you an idea of the direction of your relationships: Does your friend have a temper? Can they communicate calmly without antics? Dig deeper than what the silky surface shows. Gifts and appearances are examples of those silky surfaces and most times they're smoke screens. If your relationship is based on those things, that's as far as it will go. Remember, the microwave theory forces the cooking of food to be rushed and most times it looses it ingredients. The conventional theory requires a longer cooking process, but it allows the food to release it natural ingredients. And that theory should be applied to relationships. This week we're going to dig into a song that deals with an essence that goes beyond the silky shows. In a society where most songs are driven by external stimuli, I would suggest this week opening an older release of what relationships are to offer. Natural Woman (Aretha Franklin's version) Review the lyrics, find the song if you will and just let it soar. Some of the other songs we?re going to examine may need explanation and even commentary. However, this song preaches its own sermon. NATURAL WOMAN Leon Timbo |
